LD & ADHD Support At Other Colleges
Many students will continue to need academic an personal support at there next college or university. The process of applying to and qualifying for these services varies significantly by institution and can be complicated in some cases.
Guidelines When Applying For LD & ADHD Services
- Unless it is specifically requested, DO NOT send your Psychological-Education evaluation to the admissions office.
- Contact the learning support office at the colleges you are applying to and find out specifically to whom your learning disability documentation should be sent.
- Your Psych-Ed evaluation should be no more than three years old at the time of application to the next college. If you are unsure of how current your documentation is, email Kate Wilson (kwilson@landmark.edu), Assistant to the First Year Dean for Student Support or call 802-387-6888.
- No college/university is going to have as high a level of support as Landmark. It is important that you visit the colleges/universities that you are interested in and speak to the individuals in charge of these services. It is very important that not only is the institution a match for you, but that the LD services you need are available.
- Some institutions limit the number of students that can be in a specific program for LD students. Don't wait until the last minute to have your Psych-Ed evaluations sent to these programs. Institutions often have deadlines for these materials that you need to be aware of.
