At the heart of all four Landmark College degree programs is a 22 credit Common Core.

The Common Core provides a solid foundation for your Associate's Degree and for any degree that you pursue subsequently.

The core consists of:

• 6 credits of college English.  This will typically consist of:

   

  • EN1011 - College Writing and Reading or
  • EN1051 - Critical Process and Writing Theory, subject to approval by a placement team that includes your advisor and the Co-Chair of the English Department responsible for first year programs; and
  • EN1021 - Research and Analysis
• 3 Credits of FY1011 - Perspectives in Learning or the equivalent.
• 3 Credits of Humanities at the 1000 level.
• 3 Credits of Social Science at the 1000 level.
• 3 Credits of Math at the 1000 level (for business degrees, this will be MA1421 - Statistics).
• 4 Credits in Natural or Physical Science at the 1000 level.

These requirements can be met either through enrollment at Landmark or though successful transfer (see the section on Transfer Credits under Academic Policies).

There are two other common requirements for all Landmark College degrees:

• A total of 61 credits (distribution varies by degree)
• A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher is necessary in order to graduate.

This degree will give you a broad learning experience, grounding you in skills relevant to liberal arts education and helping you explore new fields and test your perspectives.  If you are unsure of your precise interests, this degree program will likely appeal to you.  Its requirements include:

• 61 total credits for graduation.
• 22 credits in the Common Core.
• 3 credits in Communications at the 1000 level.
• 3 credits in the Creative Arts.
• 18 additional credits at the 2000 level.

This degree program give you a wide range of options to dig into areas of interest you or to challenge yourself with an array of sophomore courses.  Its requirements include:

• 61 total credits for graduation.
• 22 credits in the Common Core.
• 27 credits at the 2000 level.

If you are interested in business but uncertain as to your ultimate career path, you might find this program appealing.  It will give you a good grounding in business basics, whether you move directly to a job or proceed to a bachelor's degree program.  Its requirements include:

• 61 total credits for graduation.
• 22 Credits in the Common Core.
• 3 Credits in BU1011 - Introduction to Business.
• 3 Credits in BU1111 - Principles of Accounting I.
• 3 Credits in BU2411 - Principles of Management.
• 3 Credits in BU2511 - Introduction to Marketing.
• 3 Credits in EC2111 - Essentials of Economics.
• 3 Credits in BU2991 - Business Seminar.
• 3 Credits in MA1421 - Statistic.
• 9 Credits in Business Electives.*
• 12 Credits in General Electives (9 Credits must be at the 2000 level).*

* If Accounting II is used as a business elective, the student must take an additional 2000-level general elective course to meet the requirement to complete (9) 2000-level courses.

The AA in Business Administration is a rigorous course of study that will take you well beyond the basics and prepare you thoroughly for a four-year business degree program.  Its requirements include:

• 61 total credits for graduation.
• 22 Credits in the Common Core.
• 3 Credits in BU1011 - Introduction to Business.
• 3 Credits in BU1111 - Principles of Accounting I.
• 3 Credits in BU2411 - Principles of Management.
• 3 Credits in BU2511 - Introduction to Marketing.
• 3 Credits in BU2991 - Business Seminar.
• 3 Credits in EC1212 - Microeconomics or EC2113 - Macroeconomics
• 3 Credits in MA1421 - Statistics
• 6 Credits in Business Electives.
• 12 Credits in General Electives (6 Credits must be at the 2000 level).

Students Entering Landmark College Before Fall 2007

If you enrolled in Landmark College before these degree programs were implemented in Fall 2007 you have two options for completing your degree and graduating:

• Meet the requirements for one of the degrees listed above.
• Meet the requirements for one of the degrees offered at the time you matriculated (AA in General Studies or AA in Business Studies)
