PUTNEY,
VT—September 4, 2003—Mr. Brent Betit, Executive
Vice President of Landmark College, has been named
as the Executive Director of the National Institute at Landmark College.
In announcing his appointment, President Lynda J. Katz cited Mr. Betit’s “..long
history of service to Landmark College, his leadership ability, his knowledge
in the field of learning disabilities, his energy, and commitment to
the mission of the National Institute.”
The National Institute at Landmark College for Learning Disabilities
and AD/HD Research and Training was established in 2001 to “..
engage in and disseminate cutting edge research in the field of learning
disabilities and AD/HD; to share with the wider educational community
the best practices for teaching adults with these diagnoses.” In
addition to directing the Institute, Mr. Betit will continue to serve
as Executive Vice President of the College.
Mr. Betit, a graduate of Whitingham School and Dartmouth College, joined
Landmark College at its inception in 1985. He also graduated from the
Saltwater Institute for leadership development in Portland, Maine, and
is currently a doctoral candidate in the Educational Leadership and Change
program of the Fielding Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California.
A fourth-generation native of Vermont, Mr. Betit resides in Whitingham
with his wife, Julie, and their two children.
