PUTNEY, VT — May 5, 2003 — The National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) has selected three Landmark College Advisors for recognition as part of the Association's 2003 National Awards Program.
John Bagge, Academic Advisor, has been selected as an Outstanding Advising Award Winner in the Academic Advising — Primary Role category.
Kathleen D'Alessio, Director of Advising, has been selected for an Outstanding Advising Certificate of Merit in the Academic Advising Administrator category.
Patricia Jaquith, Associate Professor, has been selected for an Outstanding Advising Certificate of Merit in the Faculty Academic Advising category.
These awards are presented to individuals who best demonstrate the qualities associated with outstanding academic advising services to students. The selections are the result of an annual nation-wide competition.
Each year, since 1983, the NACADA, in cooperation with ACT, Inc., has honored individuals and institutions making significant contributions to the improvement of academic advising. The goal of NACADA is to promote quality academic advising and professional development of its membership to enhance the educational development of students.
The over 6,700 NACADA members consist of faculty, professional advisors, administrators, counselors, and others in academic and student affairs concerned with the intellectual, personal, and vocational needs of students. In addition, NACADA represents academic advisors and advising administrators, and serves as an advocate for academic advising.
The awards will be presented at the annual NACADA National Conference in Dallas, TX in October.
